Ty made me do it

Honestly, it was a test I couldn’t refuse. Wouldn’t anyone want to know what Middle Earth race they are? I think there’s something wrong with the code, but this is the result:

middle-earth-dwarf1

Ty also is a dwarf – interestingly enough, he and I match rather often on these things. Now before you get all up in arms about this post having nothing to do with this blog, allow me to point out that Middle Earth, dwarves, and JRR Tolkien are all parts of speculative fiction – and if you wanna argue with an overly-aggressive and underly-intelligent and -moralized dwarf, go right ahead. I’ll be over here, honing my 90 pound, 6 foot long, double-bladed war axe.

Ha, well done lad. I’m a dwarf as well.

We’re getting ourselves a nice little clan here! We’re up to 5 that I’m aware of – come on folks, let’s see how large we can get.

    Maybe it’s the only choice… :)

you know, I’ve been really thinking that meself. Though the results page indicates there are other people finding themselves as rangers and wizards and other things.

    I don’t think it’s the only choice.

I think it’s the only choice FOR US.

Tough and irascible drawven personalities fit right in with most S&S fans, wouldn’t you think? ;)

No way Conan would come up an elf.

‘No way Conan would come up an elf’

Hell yeah!!! A barbarian maybe, but never an elf! :)

What a terrific observation, Paul! Thanks for pointing that out. Though picturing a dwarven Conan right now is making me laugh! Has anyone written/read any S&S with a dwarf as the hero?

There is the Trollslayer series (or sub-series, under the ‘Warhammer’ banner) by William King (now taken over by Nathan Long) featuring Gotrek, a berserker dwarf.

They aren’t pure s&s but they are fantasy with a s&s feel.

At least, the first collection ‘Trollslayer’ was. I really liked that set of tales. I felt like it got a bit juvenile and repetitive with the second collection, ‘Skavenslayer’.

“You’re an Elf! You scored low in size, high in morality, high in aggression and high in intelligence to get here. The first and favorite race created by the Valar, the Elves have been in Middle Earth for many ages, and are currently the only race allowed to join their creators in Valinor. Blessed with eternal life, enhanced senses, great beauty, wisdom and skill, the race of Elves still has several black marks on it. (Kinslaying, anyone?) But hey, no one is perfect, right? Of course not, but the Elves are damn close to it. FYI, your polar opposite is the Troll.”

    Good thing you’re not a Troll, von D!! :)

Of course! For you are my little elf – my first and favorite, blessed with enhanced sensuality, great beauty, wisdom and skill. I am most definitely glad I am not a Troll! As Stephen Crane (somewhat) said,

…And after I had thought of it, I said, “I will, then, not be a troll.”

  11. tam says:

Ha-hah! As long as “first and favorite” is dwarf-speak for “only” ;)

  12. Wicked says:

    Elf.
    0% size, 59% morality, 65% aggression, 65% intelligence.
I thought that road rage question was going to get me. Never imagined an elf following someone home, slashing their tires, and peeing in their gas tank. *shrug*
